Men's Tennis Advances to PSAC Title Match

BLOOMSBURG-- The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team advanced to the championship match of the 2009 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) playoffs with a 5-1 win over Millersville on Friday. The Huskies, now 10-6, will face Kutztown, which won its semi-final match 5-0 over Mercyhurst, on Saturday at 9 a.m. on the Bloomsburg courts for the PSAC title.
The Huskies jumped out to a 2-1 lead after doubles with the number one team of Fernando Perez (Center Valley/Southern Lehigh) and Ryan Glubo (Old Bridge, NJ/Old Bridge) winning 8-2 and the number two team of Lee Wexler (Lafayette Hill/Plymouth-Whitemarsh) and Mark Schroeder (Basking Ridge, NJ/Ridge) winning 8-6.
In singles play the Huskies got wins from Wexler at number two, who won 6-0, 6-0; Glubo at number five, who won 6-2, 6-2, and Alan Hummel (Manheim/Hempfield), who won 6-2, 6-0.
Bloomsburg is the defending PSAC champions and have 21 titles in school history.
